Course type: 3.5 theory, one practical

Objective: Recognizing the macroscopic and microscopic structures, development of thoracic and abdominal organs

 

Course outlines (60 hours theory):

·         Spinal cord (2 hours)

·         Ribs and sternum (2 hours)

·         Muscles and chest wall and breast fascia (3 hours)

·         Back muscles (one hour)

·         Vessels and nerves in the thoracic wall (one hour)

·         Thoracic divisions and mediastinum (one hour)

·         Trachea, lungs and pleura (2 hours)

·         Histology of the respiratory system (2 hours)

·         Embryology of the respiratory system (one hour)

·         Middle mediastinum contents (3 hours)

·         Upper, anterior and posterior mediastinal contents (3 hours)

·         Cardiovascular histology (3 hours)

·         Cardiovascular embryology (4 hours)

·         Divisions and proximities of abdominal muscles, inguinal canal, nerves and vessels of the abdominal wall (5 hours)

·         Development of orifices, diaphragm and serous membranes (one hour)

·         Peritoneum (3 hours)

·         Visceral vessels and nerves in the supracolic area (3 sessions)

·         Visceral vessels and nerves in the infracolic area (4 hours)

·         Elements, vessels and nerves of the retroperitoneum (2 hours)

·         Histology of the gastrointestinal tract (6 hours)

·         Histology of the gastrointestinal glands (liver, bile ducts and pancreas) (3 hours)

·         Embryology of the gastrointestinal system (5 hours)

34 hours practical:

·         Nerves and vessels in the thoracic and breast wall (2 hours)

·         Trachea, lungs and pleura (2 hours)

·         Heart and the anterior mediastinum (3 hours)

·         Abdomen (9 hours)

·         Surface trunk anatomy (2 hours)

·         Cardiovascular histology (2 hours)

·         Respiratory system histology (lungs, trachea and larynx) (2 hours)

·         Gastrointestinal system histology (6 hours)

·         Histology of digestive glands (2 hours)

·         Embryology of the gastrointestinal, respiratory and cardiovascular systems (4 hours)
