Course outline:
9 hours theory:
· Principles of medical and professional ethics in relation to corpses and tissue samples (one hour)
· Work safety in laboratories (one hour)
· Disposal of harmful chemicals (toxins, radioactivity and flammable) (one hour)
· Preparing fixative solutions for human bodies, animal tissues and perfusion, preparing cross-sections and principle of tissue staining (2 hours)
· Methods of preserving laboratory animals (2 hours)
· Methods of preserving tissue samples and large human sample (museums) (2 hours)
51 hours practical:
· Preparing solutions and determining pH and its concentration (2 hours)
· Performing perfusion on laboratory animals (2 hours)
· Corpse fixation (4 hours)
· Preparing tissue slides, including tissue and fetal cross-sections, and sperm and blood smears (20 hours)
· Staining tissue slides (Acridine Orange, Trichrome Mallory, Trichrome Masson, PAS, H&E) (9 hours)
· Working with an optical microscope, florescent, and reading electron images (5 hours)
· Familiarization with instruments of corpse dissection (2 hours)
· Recognizing the methods of cell and tissue culture and bio-staining (5 hours)
· Recognition of morphometric principles (2 hours)

Student Evaluation Method:
Student-based principles will be observed during the term to evaluate the performance of students by the assigned projects, as well as oral and written final exams.
