Course Title: Advanced Techniques in Anatomical Sciences

Prerequisite or simultaneous: Techniques of Macro- and Micro-anatomy (code 08)

Credits: 2 (0.5 theory, 1.5 practical)

Course type: Theory-practical

Objective: Familiarization with a minimum of 4 common advanced techniques in anatomical sciences

 

Course outlines (9 hours theory, 51 hours practical):

v  Stereology and morphometry

v  Flow cytometry

v  Exclusive tissue staining (Alcian blue/Alizarin red S., Van Gisson, Feulgen, Silver, Cajal, Brilliant crysil violet)

v  Immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunocytochemistry

v  Cryosectioning

v  PCR, RT-PCR, Real-time RT-PCR

v  ELISA

v  Nerve fiber tracing

v  Lectin histochemistry

v  Enzyme histochemistry

v  Plastination and model molding

In this course, a minimum of 4 outlines must be taken theoretically and practically. In addition, techniques will be selected based on the facilities and opinion of the department.
