Course Title: General Physiology

Prerequisites: None

Credits: 1.5

Course type: Theory

Objective: Theoretical recognition of the main principles in physiology, as well as the newest subjects, articles and scientific research regarding physiology, with an emphasis on cell base and function of body organs.

 

Course outlines (26 hours theory):

·       Cell membrane, transitional mechanism of cell membrane, resting potential, potential of function, synapses, smooth and skeletal muscles (6 hours)

·        Cell basis of cardiac irritability and function: role of ionic channels in the irritability and function of the heart (5 hours)

·         Cell basis of cardiac Electrophysiology and cell mechanism of cardiac arrhythmia (2 hours)

·         Cell message transfer mechanism in the endocrine system (4 hours)

·         Cell mechanism of producing respiratory rhythm (2 hours)

·         Cell basis of renal function (2 hours)

·         Cell basis of somatic senses (2 hours)

·         Involved Cell mechanism in the transmission of special senses (vision, hearing, smell, taste, and touch) (3 hours)

Student Evaluation Method:

Student-based principles will be observed during the term to evaluate the performance of students by the assigned projects, as well as oral and written final exams.
