Course outline: (17 hours theory)
Ø Background, definitions, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, cytosol, cytoplasm and their difference (2 hours)
Ø Cellular membrane: membrane trafficking, cell signaling (3 hours)
Ø Cytoskeleton (2 hours)
Ø Nuclear (nuclear membrane, chromatin, chromosome, DNA structure, gene structure, nucleolus and nuclear membrane holes) transcription and replication and meiosis (4 hours)
Ø Ribosome, smooth and rough endoplasmic network and protein synthesis, Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, peroxisome, mitochondria (4 hours)
Ø Apoptosis and its types, stem cell (2 hours)
